State Castle Czech Krumlov, with its architectural standard, cultural tradition, and expanse, ranks among the most important monuments, the central European region. The monumental complex of the castle Czech Krumlov is situated on a long high rocky promontory to the south of the Vltava river and creek Polečnice on the north side. The castle area is one of the largest in Central Europe. Includes forty buildings and palaces, situated around five castle courtyards and seven hectares castle garden.

The original castle was built by Vítkovci in the 1st half of the 13th century. After extinction of the Lords of Krumlov in 1302 inherited the estate Rosenbergs. With their name is linked to time of the heyday of the castle and town. Peter Wok von Rosenberg was forced to sell the Krumlov manor 1602 to Emperor Rudolf II. Other holders of the object become Eggenberg. The last owners, Schwarzenberg, built up in 1747 riding hall in the garden, established Masquerade Hall and in 1766 was opened unique theater. Its facilities, scenery and costumes have been preserved to this day.
